It’s been a busy and hot summer at Camilla Elphick HQ with lots of exciting things in the planning, but to escape the stifling temperatures of London, just for a couple of days, we took an inspirational trip to Brighton – which was glorious!

Where we stayed…

You may have visited the Artist Residence boutique hotel in Pimlico? We love it! – so, naturally when visiting Brighton we had to stay at the original Artist Residence hotel in Regency Square. With it’s arty interior and sea facing rooms, this hotel could not have been more perfect for us!

Only packed the essentials…

Coffee o’clock…

Being avid coffee drinkers, we paused our morning for a flat white and email catch up at Lost in the Lanes, a new escapist café buried deep in the labyrinth of streets, serving delicious coffee and an array of baked goods that we could have eaten forever!

Style finds…

Brighton has quirky, independent boutiques in abundance, but our favourite had to be ODE (Our Daily Edit). This fresh, contemporary life and style store is cooly curated with some of our favourite brands from Etre Cecile to Ganni – as well as gorgeous gift inspiration with scented candles, and home fragrances to die for.

Where we ate…

No trip to the seaside would be complete without a fish focused meal. Too hot for traditional fish & chips, we instead enjoyed a light lunch at Englishs, the oldest seafood restaurant in Brighton and favoured dining destination of famous faces since 1945. Their traditional menu, features dishes with a contemporary twist. We recommend the smoked salmon scones, with horseradish cream or grilled tiger prawns with lemongrass, chilli and mango salsa.

If you don’t already have plans this weekend, head down to Brighton and you will return feeling like you have had a mini holiday!
